Has anyone asked attorney whether we can write our case number on the complaint letter without asking employer since LC(PERM) is filed by employer and the case number seems to belong to employer.
My HR and company hired attorney are always not cooperative to my GC and I want to clear things.
Don't take my question negative. I am fully supportive this 100% and appreciate guys very much. I am happy that we are doing something to make things better.

So what you are saying is, if one does not has the Vaccination record, concern DR would do this immunization (Antibody titer) test in place of vaccination record and can you confirm that you have gone thru exact scenario ?

My PD is Nov 2001. It became current last month. Filed 485 this month. Now I see people with 2007 PDs eligible to file. Can't complain. Take it as it comes and proceed. You are not a player in these. You are only a spectator.

As pappu stated in the first post of the above referenced thread - some of the ongoing efforts include finding how many IV members would get benefit from such a provision and get basic details such as username/Priority Date of impacted members. Future action items might include drafting documents and letters to support this provision. There maybe actions such as sending emails etc. However we would not be able to open a public action item unless we can have thousands of our members willing to participate in a grassroots action item. This survey intends to understand the needs of our membership for this provision and collect grassroots information.
The fact is we have a dedicated group of volunteers (and we need more) who have been trying their best to spread the message about this initiative so that a strong grass-roots support can be created leading up to launch of the public action items. So far we have around 1100 people who have responded. Based on quick calculations carried out using PERM data, it is estimated that there are at least 60K-70K EB applicants waiting to file I-485/EAD/AP (this is a very conservative estimate..the actual number could be much more). It is surprising (rather shocking) to see how a discussion on an EB bill (which might never see the light of day anyway) has degenerated into an oft-repeated rant on how IV does not represent EB3.
When I meet with my lawmaker's office (and when I again meet in Feb), I repeat the IV provisions which are for ALL EB and not any specific category/country. THe problem with EB3 is the with the way the EB system/inventory is set-up. It is stupid to convert a chronic issue into a "IV is not trying" debate. As always, we have lots of armchair critics and few grass-roots workers.
If you trust IV Core and its advisory board and believe that they know how politics works better than you and me you are entitled to your opinion and you may be right too. Certainly IV Core knows how political work, there is no denying that but my point of contention is that does what ICV Core believe and are working towards match with what is good for EB3?
And there as the bard would say lies the rub
Now again in response to that you and most of the people would agree that IV Core goals is good for EB3. Now out of all the people who agree how many are EB3 and how many are EB2. Again IV Core would say many EB3 agree with what they do because IV is not about helping anyone, IV is about helping yourselves (EB3 or EB2), and when it comes to the fact of helping ourselves i for one feel that IV core would do better to listen to the EB3 voice out there. Why do i feel EB3 specific voice is not being heard? Well the answer to that is very simple. It is because EB3 as a whole has NOT seen any benefit out of the rule changes which happened till now and any new initiative which gets the support of IV.

My commnts to that is that YES it is a harsh economic situation and YES anti immigrants sentiments is on the rise but if i am an an anti immigrant i would oppose immigrants as a whole. I would not oppose EB2 immigrants less because they have MS degrees and i would not oppose EB3 less because they are stuck in the immigration process and harsh economics time is harsh for everyone (EB2 and EB3) and also citizens so the same logic of anti immigranst sentiments would apply

What i like is not what is important. What is important is what is done is the right thing., If it is the question of EB3 waiting fore ever (say 10 years) or EB3 waiting more than forever (say 20 years) i would plum for which ever option gives relief to people (even if it extends my GC wait time) who are of older priority date and who should get relief, not because they have waited for so long but because they waited for so long in the line and followed all the rules and it is just mind blowing that people who have applied for GC in 2008 and 2010 and expecting that they deserve to get GC because they are EB2 and no other reason.
Now to that all EB2 guys will reply back saying Are you nuts, that how the world works, if you want a GC sooner get a US degree or apply in EB2 no one is stopping you and all that kinds of statements. It gets ugly too but what everyone forgets is that it is easier to be sanctimonious and give advise when you are not being effected. When you are at the other end (Remember the bottom of the totem pole) that is when you all these things come back to bite you and you cannot justify what you said earlier.
Think about it illegals want GC for everyone illegal. Legals (including IV Core among others) say we are fighting for all EB and are united but when an EB2 with 2007 priority date gets GC but an EB3 32002 is still waiting all that argument falls by the wayside and there is no unity

I applied to my passport renewal in Jan 09 got back the renewed passport in march 2009.
I checked the passport and on my new passport the old passport number was wrong.
I went personally there and they put a observation in my passport as (the old passport number should be read as xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx).
The observation is hand written and has no signature or stamp on it. I talked to the lady there and she said this is fine and lawful.
Can any one shed any light, if that can be a problem to me while travelling??
BTW - old passport was mentioned wrong becuase I did a typing error while filling online application. When I went there they corrected the ew passport and gave me within 1 hour. So in that way they were helpful.

interestingly i have received RFE on EAD for Photos. and also received a biometrics appointment. however my AP is approved. they always surprise me. this is my 6th EAD, the surprises never seem to end.

My wife's LC was filed through the old process. We also did the PERM for her and were able to port the old PD BUT it took almost a year and the lawyer told us he had to ask his 'congressional contact' for help.
PERM may be an option for people in BEC - but not a sure shot one. The whole process takes ~6 months (including advertisements) and you/your company need to shell out $$$.
I empathize with you - but this is life. I had a PD of Oct '03 - but got sick of my job and changed - so now have a PD of Dec '05. Didn't make a difference as both became current in the July VB.
All of us come here for different reasons - many like me come for career opportunities. When GC/visa issues become a barrier for your career, it's time to rethink - when at the same time the opportunities in your country are much better. In the grand scheme of things, it's still not clear how important a GC is - don't get me wrong it really really helps - but if you are unlucky - then you need to evaluate the opportunity cost.

Phone calls and Emails does not work with Indian Consulates, I had received an advice from one of well wisher and sent a fax for the status of my childs PIO card, after sending fax they sent my passport within 3 days :), This is just my personal experience for the Indian consualte in Washington DC. So give a try FAX may work..
