Today its very windy and a bit cool outside.. I'm going out there to test it out.
Keep up the good work Needhelp. This shows your committment to staying healthy and supporting Team IV.
In times when the temperature drops, try wearing a headband to keep the cool air off of your forehead and also try wearing a hat. I do look like a running geek, i have on hat, sun glasses and headband. But after 10 years of running, i don't care if anyone laughs at me. At least i know I am comfortable!

I just contributed $200.00.
I am in new job and mid of negotiating with blood sucker desi employer not to revoke i140. I can not attend the advocacy days.
Anyway like Eb3retro I also lost my interest so changed job. Profile don't meet much with what written in i140, so who cares if GC rejected I will be heading to India.
Good Luck for all your efforts!

We also would be happy if we can get the visa re-stamping inside the US rather going to Home country or any other country. We dont have to spend huge amount and struck for months outside the country and lose job...

Chintu25 was talking abt reading patterns on a trade which are also known as Technical Analysis. For those who don't like to read books (that includes me too!!)...here is a link to a series of youtube vidoes that explains different patterns which in turn help you predict a trend (uptrend or downtrend) on a stock that you like.
Hope this helps to those who are interested!!!

SA 187.
Kennedy's staff picked up something from their old files...like the original McCain-Kennedy bill of 2005 (the CIR before it hit the judiciary committee last year) that had the hard country cap and slapped it on Thomas against Session's amendment.
If you look at the text, its remarkably similar to the original McCain-Kennedy text (140K to 290K, hard country cap, recapture...all that. Even the description of the title).
They copy-pasted the text for skilled immigration from original McCain-Kennedy that was their brainchild, instead of copy-pasting it from S 2611 ES what had all the amendments from last year's senate CIR. But then again, copy-paste is very common on the Hill. Last year, Bill Frist copied the entire Judiciary Committee version and introduced it after deleting 2 titles related to Amnesty and guest-worker bill.
If this amendment had really passed, and if it had not been modified in the conference between house and senate and if hard cap had become a law, then this amendment would have done more harm than good.
Could you elaborate on the harm that would cause us please...
I would like to understand this system.....

CSPA LAWSUIT TO BE FILED ON MONDAY
June 21, 2008
We will file our CSPA lawsuit on Monday. We have another plaintiff thanks to Atty. Andrew Knapp.
We hope that the USCIS, DHS and the Department of State will follow Matter of Garcia and apply the law not only to our plaintiffs but across the board.
Thousands of immigrants would benefit. We will post a copy of our complaint on our website later this weekend, and will discuss the lawsuit at the AILA convention next week, and in the upcoming issue of our free, e-mail newsletter.

2)If my I 485 is approved before I file my spouse I 485, is it Okay to file I 485 for the spouse as normal case ?
No you cannot, if your case gets approved, your wife will loose H4 status.
What are the other options for this ?. I will make sure I am filing I 485 1st week of June, but you never know since my 485 is pending for long time, there may be a chance it gets approved fast, in that case what other options are there to file derivate/spouse case. ?

dude,
I believe you have poured your heart out there! Wonderful job! I believe most of the sane members here totally respect your decision to buy a home without GC.
Having said that, although your description of half-a-day's work gave me goosebumps, I'm not too carried away. If it happens, it happens! I'd go back to my home country with the fond memory of 10 years of life here! As you said, we wont go back empty handed. Came to US with just $200 in the pocket!
Relax and enjoy your home,
GCisaDawg
No issues if you go back. That can happen to anybody. Nobody is safe in this country.
Make sure you pay off your mortgages if you do and cover all your liabilities.
There should be criminal action against loan defaulters, otherwise lessons won't be learnt.
And if you don't want to persecute these sons of bitches, give a portion of my tax money back, which I paid for last 9 frigging years, which has gone into these bailouts. I'm not even asking for the loss of revenue my company has endured due to our customers (high profile banks) slashing their IT expenditure. I cannot. Don't compensate me for the ripple effect but at least compensate me for the prospect of job losses me and thousands like me face this HISTORIC year of 2009, when a white president has entered the black house ..oops a black president has entered the white house.
(I'm not making anything up, everything I wrote about my company's customers is true).
Immigrants who don't pay off and run away should be extradited and put behind bars.
Yes, we can. Yes, we can change. Yes, we can. And folks, if you don't like my language, consider me insane and leave it at that but give my tax money back not in IOU and promissary notes but in checks.

I am a new member on IV. Haven't contributed, haven't send flowers or thank you cards, haven't volunteered for anything. In fact, I had not even heard of IV up until a month or so back.
However, as I read about the IV efforts in response to the July fiasco, I realised there are a lot of people out here on IV who are doing a tremendous amount of work, work that affects me as an individual positively.
At the last minute, I decided to drive down from NJ. My wife has never ever been on any immigration forum. But she was all for it. We thought it would be too late to get on the NJ bus and drove down.
ME AND MY WIFE ARE VERY PROUD OF IV AND EVERYONE ELSE THAT MADE IT TO DC. IT WAS WELL WORTH THE EFFORT!!!!
For the first time in my life, I have stood up for anything. I am from India and I hate to say it but for far too long, most Indians I know have been shy/meek/lazy about standing up for what we believe in.
Hats off to all the IV volunteers, people who came in and worked over the weekend, people especially who flew into DC, people who came with their kids!!!
PS: Disappointed in my fellow East Coast ppl for no turning up in more numbers

thanks, hopefully, we will all get our EAD's shortly. Keeping my fingers crossed. :-(.
I e-filed mine on May 12, nothing yet!
I opened a service request today and the CSR said I should get a response on or before Aug.16. Don't know if it's gonna happen though.

Years we have been told priority date establishes your place in the queue.
We have spurned job offers and declined the new PERM process to hold on to the priority dates.
Many are still awaiting labor certifications from the backlog elimination centers. Out comes USCIS and says everyone with a LC can file I140 & I485.
People still waiting for LC with priority dates in 2003-2004 are seeing applicants who have priority dates as late as 2007 but with approved LCs through PERM walk through to I485.
Net result, USCIS is going to be flooded with applicants enough to retrogress the priority dates 3-4 years back as early as september. (Everybody with a LC will be able to file for I485 in July). So applicants with priority dates of 2007 are going to get EAD and GC, while LC backlogged 2003 applicants to have to wait for another 3-4 years before they can even file I485.
Aint fair. Aint fair at all. How can this be. How can rules be changed in the middle of the game.
My case was stuck in BEC for a couple of years and was cleared some time back. (Disclaimer).
But I totally sympathise with you. A few of my friends are still stuck in BEC and I feel very bad that I am moving forward even though my PD is newer than theirs.
I believe this issue can be very easily resolved with some kind of grassroot level push from all of us, lawyers and law makers. If USCIS can process 50,000+ applications in a matter of days, what is preventing another govt. agency from processing a similar number of applicants in a couple of weeks? Only thing is that they all need to be made aware of this injustice. I believe this is the next agenda that IV should take up.
I am going to send a PM to IV core regarding this issue. Any one else with me on this?
Cheers,
h1techSlave
