When every one send individual letter, they will read the first one and then will just ignore others. Because the content and issue is same. When we 50+ people send one neatly drafted letter...I am sure it will draw considerable attention. Ron is willing to help us. I am not sure if we need to hire him for this. quick question ..did u efile - when and is yr FP over. I agree wait for 7 - 8 days more ..keep checking LUD's ...also did u get "card prod ordered email".
yes ..it is erratic ..but once they figure out the problems, I think people will get cards faster. I wonder if everyone opens a service request then what effect will that have (I am sure customer service people don't like that and maybe the service centers will start working faster ..).
Yes I did efile and my FP was done on June 17th. Nope I still have my status as Pending. I have requested expedite processing today and I will see what they will say. I will keep you posted

Dude, I am not saying that this country is great or that country is great. You might be having valid reasons for the choice that you want to make, but you did not have to bring reservation into this. I am surprised that there are 4 lawyers and you have free calls for all needy members. This is what I am talking about. I think it should be made more clear on what are the benefits of memberss and people will contribute before asking. Not every one is a crook and try to get info for free.

I don't think IV is doing anything wrong. I am aware of IV only doing 'some' thing for EB2.
But lot people take IV as one forum (not org) to discuss their matters. Lot of people come into IV as an alternative to other forums - t r a c k i t t , lawyers forums etc. They might not believe in what is IV doing for 'faster GCs' . IV should either
a) try to make them believe in them
b) or leave them alone & let use the forums
c) or allow only people - who believe in IV.
If you keep going to say 20k people are members & everyone should donate - then it is wrong.
As per pappu - when people come running to IV & blah. blah... .... then ask them for donation if their case gets resolved.. did pappu try to reach out to them for donations.
I don't want to argue - but respect everyone's belief.
Pappu belief in IV does not equal to 'everyone's belief in IV' - it is simple as that.

Personally this is what I think: we should ask Mr. Gotcher to help us on a pro bono basis as a favor. At the same time, let him know that we will collect contributions from willing members and all will go to him to cover his expenses. I suggest this for a couple of reasons. First, raising money can take time. And we don’t know how many are willing to contribute. We may be stuck here posting “come on guys we have $3k we need another $2k before anything gets done”. Also, I think a lot more people will be happy to put in their money when they see some actions and movements. This way work can get started soon.

My I140 approved with priority date in November 2007. My wife works for American Vendor and her 6th year on H1B would be over by October 2012. Her company is not willing to initiate GC process. Right now her job is going smooth and could go for little longer. I wanted her to continue till mid of next year and then look for H1B transfer with immidiate GC process. Now the question, Is there any rule that we should start PERM 365 days before end of 6th year? Because I heard that we should file Labor in 5th year (365 days before). I am kind of confused... Please clarify this , I really appreciate it.

most companies either want to hire contractors or outsource work so your statement "about real jobs for real employers" is not correct. The people working as contractors are infact working on real jobs for real US employers. Not many companies are willing to hire people on H1 on a full time basis because of all the costs associated with the H1 processing not to mention the paper work. They want to contract employees in general and not give full time jobs. If desi bodyshops are punished this way, then all of us will also be punished. and thats exactly what Ron hira wants.

Is there anything one can do to speed up the labor processing times at Atlanta PERM processing center? They seem to have caught the flu from their Grand daddy(BEC) these days. They are taking for ever to process applications and no one seems to notice it, while their sister processing center in Chicago has average processing time of 2 weeks. What can one do to fix this problem? Please advise.

I did an e-file of my EAD & AP on 14th April send the supporting docs that reached on 19th got second update as following on 04/20 no change since then anybody else had same experience.

Hello All,
I found a unique way to cope with the stress of our immigration nightmare.
I always feared that this long wait to get the status issue settled would kill the entrepreneurial spirit that I have. The burning desire to do my own thing.
I have been trading stocks for the past 4 years or so now but just recently got interested in PDT - Pattern Day Trading (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pattern_day_trader) (Clickable)
I have found it very interesting as well as rewarding in terms of fulfilling the urge to do something more than what I am doing right now.
It is not easy and it is not for the weak hearted but the rewards are wholesome and tremendous.
I would like people who are interested to "PM" me or post replies here so we can exchange ideas
IMP NOTE: Trading stocks is a type of investment so It is perfectly legal to do so. You do not even require an EAD to do so .
No doubt that if you do have EAD you can trade as business entity as well.
Last but not the least
Do not forget to to keep the momentum up at IV and do donate to IV as often as you can .
