Item 4 must be dropped. There is this major misconception about Indians being able to afford housing more than others - No! HUD shows that compared to other communities only 4% of Indian immigrants own a home.
Sometime back some other person on the forum wanted USCIS to give GCs if candidate buys a home - what a foolish idea. He thought it would help the economy. How? Buy if you can't afford and then go into foreclosure?
Rest of the points are fine except I don't think involving social security is this is going to fly! Too sensitive a topic.

Just curious...when did you open the Service request? And after how many days you received the reply below on your case? Was it through email or postal mail?

Opened on May 3rd, it was an email ... whats intersting about the mail is time stamp on mail is 12:56 PM (may 5th), but got the mail around 10 PM (may 5th)

i am working directly to the client, it's very big company and my immigration people told me it's randomly pickup one no need to worry.
i asked them is there any time frame and they mentioned no set of time frame for audit cases

if you can have a normal conversation = you are not working as much
if you can talk intermittently = you are challenging your body enough
if you cannot talk at all = you are working too much and this does not help either
For the starters ...walk at your normal pace..remember you are starting to condition your body towards walking 3 miles by a certain time frame. it is ok if you can only get to 1 mile instead of 3. it is going to be a journey.
If you are new to fitness walking or running and you already support IV, now you can do both - see above post by Santb1975. I also recommend this methodology.

Hi sweet23guyin,
We would have loved to pick the NYC ING Marathon, but it would be quite a bit of a challenge for us to coordinate Team IV participation at an event where the registration is controlled via a lottery system. We would like to get our first year successfully under our belts, and then we will certainly look into revisiting NYC's marathon.
The three events picked for 2008-2009 year are spread out across the US and they provide us with a range of distances to walk/run. I have spoken to the race directors and we are ready to coordinate registrations with them. I hope you will join us in our first year.

People have various reasons for not participating ...its simple basic PR...IV as an organisation needs to frequently remind them of the good work IV has accomplished in maybe a regular newsletter...list out various needs that need attention and require volunteers for clearly defined roles...and be positive and coherent when replying to member's queries. Lashing out at members for asking simple questions is huge "no-no" for any organisation.

On the other hand Gotcher whom I really respect was very confident in his forum that this category will keep on moving till July. So I have hope that we will see it move few months at least !!! I am keeping my fingers crossed.

you are correct, those petitions from academia/non-profit are not counted against the cap, also they enjoy the benefit of being able to start working as soon as it get approved as against the other H1b where u have to wait till october if you are filing for the first time.

I am a strong supporter of IV , its cause and one of the state chapter leaders . And I also believe that IV's goal should be clear and focussed, but this is an issue that eats my heart.
What kind of justice it is, where people are rewarded for breaking laws and those who followed it are made to suffer.
We are here in the US not only for ourselves but also for the better life to our children. If we can't give them that then our living in this country is worthless.
I also think that this issue should be part of IV top agenda among other things. The folks in question are not illegal but our very own in EB category. They are the greatest victim of the system. When I look at my sufferings , it is less compared to what these people are going through. My green card may be delayed but most likely will not be denied. Whereas, their green card is as good as denied.
While I am writting this and putting myself in your shoes, I feel helpless and hopeless. If IVians won't help here then who would?

2 wks max. I submitted it to them on 10/8 (in-person) & got it on 10/17. Keep aside 2-4 hrs when you go to submit as there is only 1 window operational.

Honestly I don't even see a point for these discussions, polls or predictions for EB3-I. The sooner we accept we are doomed the better. The only way out is to help ourselves but I don't think many EB3's are willing to do that.
I spoke to several in my office with earlier EB3 PD's (who might not even get GC's in the next 5-10 years !) and of course with EAD's and they have literally substituted EAD for a GC. They were once a part of IV (and some similar org's ?!) but now have completely lost hope and don't care. I tried to motivate them to join IV and support but they feel that IV does not cater to EB3's anymore. Sadly they are not even trying to port to EB2. They are just content with a job and EAD.
So, I am not really sure how many of us are actually willing to fight ?!
In fact it's even worse for people like me who are still waiting to file their I-485. Is it going to take us 5,10 or 20 years just to get an EAD ?!
This is a bunch of nonsense you hear. These folks who tell you this have not even bothered to check the truth with IV or bothered to spend their precious time doing something constructive. They basically do not need greencard and Greencard is not important to them. Don't waste your energy trying to convince them. They are better off watching visa bulletins every month and blaming their karma. Our aim is not to have million members who do nothing and just criticize. But have a positive bunch that is sincere, committed and works to fix the problem.
